Thrown

Terms of Service

Effective August 14, 2026

The service

Thrown (the app and the website at thrown.app) is a studio log for potters, operated by SMITHWORKS ATX. By creating an account you agree to these terms.

Your content

Everything you put into Thrown — recipes, records, photos — remains yours. You grant us only the technical permission needed to store, sync, and display it back to you. We claim no other rights to it, and our Privacy Policy governs how it's handled.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no attempting to access other users' data, probing or disrupting the infrastructure, uploading unlawful content, or reselling access. We may suspend accounts that do.

Pricing

Thrown is currently free while in early release. If paid plans are introduced, existing users will get clear notice before anything changes, and export of your data will always remain free.

No warranty; limitation of liability

The service is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. Keep backups of work that matters (the app gives you a one-tap export precisely for this). To the maximum extent permitted by law, SMITHWORKS ATX is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the twelve months before a claim.

Ending things

You can delete your account (and all cloud data) in the app at any time. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. We may also discontinue the service; if that ever happens, we'll give reasonable notice so you can export your data.

Changes & contact

Material changes will be posted here with a new effective date. Questions: hello@thrownapp.com. These terms are governed by the laws of Texas, USA.
